Itouch 3.1.2 brick after restarting ipod. 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
First!

I hope someone reads this because im the first to post in here...

So i used blackra1n to jailbreak my itouch 3G, 3.1.2, 32GB model...it worked fine, i downloaded the stuff, and then i downloaded this program called Appsync 3.1 to sync my applications but it didnt work...so i restarted my ipod, because thats what i read your supposed to do and now everytime it turns on i get the itunes logo with the cable...if i jailbreak it again, it gets to the applications but when i restart the ipod i get the same problem...

i cant get passed this issue no matter how many times i try and im restoring my itouch as i type.

I would like to know if im the first to get this problem with this firmware...my friend used it on his iphone and he aint getting the problem...

email me or post, whatever, cool...

make sure that you download a free app first for appsynch to work. Also try using a new firmware. Delete the old one and download it again. This is the first time I have heard of this issue.

are you sure the 3.1.2 firmware is the correct one for your unit?
make sure it is for the iTouch and not for the iPhone

because you said your friend made use of the method on his iPhone

Unless I'm mistaken, this is a feature of the Blackra1n jailbreak....known as tethering.
Apparently, everytime you turn off your iPod, you have to re-jailbreak it again next time tou turn it on

If you are away from your PC when you turn it on (& cannot re-jailbreak) I guess it can't be used...

If I am right about this.....is it possible to have 2 'profiles' for your iPod?
One that is jailbroken & one that is not?

That way, if you are going to be away from your PC you could sync to the un-jailbroken 'profile'......& still use the iPod

Hope someone can clarify this!
